I waited to review this canopy because I wanted to see how well it would hold up. I was worried about the issue others have had about the canopy top sagging in the rain. So far we have had many regular rains & a few hard rains, and the canopy has held up fine. The canvas is taught, and rain slides right off. I figure if/when the sagging does become an issue in the future, we will either 1) try to order a replacement canopy, or 2) get clear plexiglass panels & to put between the frame and the canopy to hold it taught in the problem areas. But for now, no problems at all. Also, I was happy to find that this canopy was very easy to set up. My husband and I did it by ourselves in an afternoon, with just a step ladder and basic tools. The trick is to not tighten anything until you are done with the whole step, then go back and tighten everything at once. Then we screwed it directly into the floor of the deck at the base of all 4 corners. It is extremely secure. We will probably leave the frame up year round, and just take down the canvas in the fall & put it back on in the spring each year. One other point, about the side panels-- I found that I don't like the heavier outer panels, and we never used them, so I took them down. I'm actually not really sure when you would want to use them. My sense is that in high winds, zipping those panels up could end up breaking the whole frame. And they're not good for shade because they don't let any breeze through. So I just took them off the other day & the only thing I miss is the hundreds of earwigs that used to live in them (jk). The mosquito netting is great though! I keep it tied back with ribbons when not in use. And I also got some outdoor curtains that are really cute & block the sun nicely, while also being super adjustable and letting a lot more breeze through than the other panels would have. So if I were to do it over again, I would not even put the side panels on in the first place.Overall, I LOVE being out there under this canopy. The shade is great, and it creates a really nice 'living room' feeling. It is especially valuable to me with the ongoing quarantine situation. But I also can't WAIT to have people over and enjoy this lovely space with others!! Next year I guess--fingers crossed.
