I ordered a large to be sure that I have enough room with bulkier sweaters on. It is a little puffier than I had thought initially, but fairly light weight and easy to wear. My FAVORITE part are the cuffs. They are not just an elastic or biased band. They have an actual stretchy fabric cuff with thumb hole. Very warm, and a curved back side that offers a bit more coverage. The sleeves are long, I'm 5'4", almost too long, but I'd much rather that than too short. very nice every day coat! I would have sized down if not wanting to fit larger items underneath.
