The first two books were each New York Times best sellers, and the third book, Mockingjay, topped all US bestseller lists upon its release.
Words cannot express how much I love this score, but I'll try!This is a score that is powerful enough to exist outside the universe of the Hunger Games and its franchise, yet does well to not overpower the film. I listen to this album whenever I need a break from the world. It's both fueled by emotion and gentle enough to ease an anxious mind. (Thinking about this, I realize that it fits pretty well with who Katniss is in relation to those around her: a force to be reckoned with to some, and a soothing warmth to others.)I plan to collect the other scores, though this one is the best so far, in my opinion. I was previously only collecting the soundtracks... boy, was I missing out!(Side note: I ordered the CD, and it arrived heavily damaged. I ordered a replacement, and that, too, arrived damaged. Amazon needs to not ship their CDs in envelopes!)
