Product Description

Designed specifically for women, by women and based on our Outside Magazine "Gear of the Year" award-winning Men's Axiom Jacket, the Clairvoyant Jacket makes use of the same incredibly breathable, totally waterproof GORE Active technology. Built for high alpine epics and highly aerobic backcountry tours, the polyester face fabric of the Clairvoyant is incredibly supple and quiet, eliminating the noise common among "crunchy", stiff hard-shell jackets. Ready to repel brutal weather during all-out adventures, this jacket will keep you dry without getting clammy hours into a record setting attempt on the Cathedral Traverse or the Rim to Rim.

i ordered this for my wife since i'm the gear hound in the family,.She's 5'7 130lbs, lean/athletic build and ordered a size small, we live at the base of the cascades. i.e. wet and variable conditions.i gotta say this is a very flattering jacket, it ticks all the right boxes for being functional as a shell and also has the cut and style to make it an around town/work jacket as well, the color is a very nice stone/slate grey. The cut is such that it fits well with just a shirt on underneath but also has the needed room for a light down jacket for those days on the slope, i went with a jacket that had the gore active shell for because she runs hot and has commented how her new jacket does a good job of blocking wind and breathing, which was something i was concerned about due to the lack of pit zips on this jacket, that does however make this a very light weight jacket and does help with being able to pack it down in size.all in all this was a very good purchase and am happy that she's got a new do everything shell that she's happy with.Like the style and color. Did not like how short it is at the hip. Wish the pockets are bigger are deeper for cell phone size these days.As a backpacking guide, I was looking for a GORE-TEX waterproof shell that I could place over layers for waterproofing in the summer or winter. This jacket does it all, it is also a very nice charcoal grey which looks good when I walk into the city as well. It's lightweight which made it great for packing on my backpacking trips and was very dry. 5/5 stars for that alone! But if you're looking for a less pricey GORE-TEX shell... then this is it.Great jacket, repels rain well but will drip off and collect at the hem a bit so pair with rain repellant pants if out in the elements for a long duration. Beautiful color!Fantastic light goretex which feels so good and makes no noise like other goretex brands. This fits great and if flattering. Love the color. This jacket uses Gore-Tex Active, which seems to have issues. Arc'teryx stopped using this type of Gore-Tex because they had too many problems. This shell is softer, quieter, and more stretchy than typical hard-shells, but the exterior fabric is extremely fragile. After two years, water started leaking into the jacket. (Tested by holding it under a faucet.) Not only did OR not stand behind their product, they made false claims about how Gore-Tex works. If you’re looking for a durable, yet breathable rain jacket, the Clairvoyant is a good choice. It’s rugged enough that you can wear it climbing (including chimneys) yet breathable so you don’t get too sweaty while performing activities. The bicolor zipper is adds some neat flair too! I’m a big fan of pit-to-hip zips, so if I were to make one minor change to this jacket, I’d add these zips. But the breathability definitely helps. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Wish it had pit zips but definitely willing to sacrifice them for a lighter jacket. Realllly soft and comfy to wear anywhere, also super stylish. Use in the winter over my puffy and use in the summertime to stay dry and warm. Great jacket!
